There are only 2 spots left. Register now!
In 2019 we begin our 12th year of small group, hands-on Christian filmmaker training at the Rocky Mountain Christian Filmmakers Camp. Our 2019 camp is being held June 23rd - 29th in beautiful Norwood, CO.
The filmmakers camp is open to students 16 - 29 years old. (14-15 year olds see note below)*
No previous filmmaking experience is necessary.
* Please see important note concerning registration ages, special dietary needs and health concerns at the bottom of this page *
The camp is made up of two parts: The online academy and the week long hands-on camp in Norwood, CO.
When you register you are given immediate access to the online academy. The online filmmakers academy currently includes over 4 ½ hours of training videos that cover:
- The Camera: How it works and using DSLRs for filmmaking
- Cinematography: How to capture cinematic images, working with indoor and outdoor lighting and much more.
- Sound: Capturing the best sound in the field that you can and what to do when you can’t.
- Pre-production: Creating your story and getting everything together that you will need to make your film a reality.
- Production: What life on set is like and how to get your movie shot and completed on time and on budget.
As part of your registration you receive access to the online academy for a full year, so you can continue to watch the videos even after the hands-on camp. Plus, we will be adding new material to the online academy throughout the year so you can continue your learning journey. There are even quizzes you can take after each module to track your comprehension of the material.
The second part of the camp is the best part. You spend a week with us learning hands-on by making a short film. You will get to use all the equipment you learned about in the online videos. You’ll get experience being the director, the camera operator, gaffer and grip. You will complete all the preproduction paperwork involved in making a film including scene breakdown sheets, shot lists and storyboards.
In short, you will get hands-on experience doing everything involved in the pre-production and production process.
The full price for the camp is $799 which includes 1 year of access to the online training, 1 week of hands-on training, food and lodging during the hands-on camp and transportation to and from the Montrose, CO airport.
Our camp format is based on teaching a small group so everyone receives personal attention from the instructors and hands-on experience with all the equipment. Our film camp is limited to only 6 students so you must act now to secure your spot.
So register now and receive:
1 year of access to the online filmmakers academy (a $299 value)

*SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING STUDENT AGES, PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS AND SPECIAL HEALTH CONCERNS
Age Restrictions: The following registration requirements apply to the 2019 Rocky Mountain Christian Filmmakers and Acting Camp. The camp is only available to students 16-29 years old. However, there are two exceptions.
The first exception allows students who will be 14 or 15 years old by the beginning of camp to request admission. After receiving your request, camp staff will request a telephone interview before making a final decision on admission. Send your requests to info@ChristianFilmmakersCamp.com.
The second exception allows parents to attend with their child. While we have been blessed to train a wide age range of students over the past 10 years, we have decided to narrow our focus. Rather than trying to develop a program that meets the needs of every age group, we can focus our energies on developing a program that is geared specifically for younger students who need it most.
Special Dietary Needs: Meals are included as part of your camp registration. We are unable to meet the needs of students with special dietary needs such as gluten free, dairy free, vegan or food allergies. If you have any special dietary needs that would prevent you from being able to eat our standard camp meals please contact us before you register for camp to discuss your food needs. Email us at info@ChristianFilmmakersCamp.com.
Health Concerns: Also, please be advised that our camp is located at an altitude of 7000 feet. There may also be a lot of walking and carrying heavy filmmaking equipment as part of the camp day. While adults are welcome to attend camp it is really geared toward teens and twenty-somethings. Please keep this in mind if you have any physical health limitations.
