The camp is made up of two parts: The online academy and the week long hands-on camp in Norwood, CO.
When you register you are given immediate access to the online academy. The acting academy currently includes over 2 ½ hours of training videos that cover the topics:
- Acting Methods and Approaches
- Spiritual Lives of Characters
As part of your registration you receive access to the online academy for a full year, so you can continue to watch the videos even after the hands-on camp.
The second part of the camp is the best part. You spend a week with us learning hands-on by making a short film. You will audition for parts, learn how to break down a script and prepare to deliver the best performance you can for the glory of God. Here is a sampling of what you will learn at the hands-on camp:
- Creating characters that live and breathe
- Acting for the camera
- Voice and Diction
- Breaking down a script
- Using improvisation and sociodrama before the camera rolls
- Assessing the spiritual life of your character
- ...and much more!
In short, you will get hands-on experience doing everything involved in the Christian acting process.
Registration for camp is $799 which includes: 1 years access to the online training, 1 week at the hands-on camp, food and lodging during camp and transportation to and from the Montrose Colorado airport.
Our camp format is based on teaching a small group so everyone receives personal attention from the instructors and hands-on experience with all aspects of the Christian acting process. Our acting camp is limited to only 7 students so you must act now to secure your spot.

*SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING STUDENT AGES, PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS AND SPECIAL HEALTH CONCERNS
Age Restrictions: We have made the following adjustment to our registration requirements for the 2019 Rocky Mountain Christian Filmmakers and Acting Camp. The camp is only available to students 16-29 years old. However, there are two exceptions.
The first exception allows students who will be 14 or 15 years old by the beginning of camp to request admission by submitting an audition video. After reviewing the video, camp staff may request a telephone interview before making a final decision on admission. Send your requests to info@ChristianFilmmakersCamp.com.
The second exception allows parents to attend with their child. While we have been blessed to train a wide age range of students over the past 10 years, we have decided to narrow our focus. Rather than trying to develop a program that meets the needs of every age group, we can focus our energies on developing a program that is geared specifically for younger students who need it most.
Special Dietary Needs: Meals are included as part of your camp registration. We are unable to meet the needs of students with special dietary needs such as gluten free, dairy free, vegan or food allergies. If you have any special dietary needs that would prevent you from being able to eat our standard camp meals please contact us before you register for camp to discuss your food needs. Email us at info@ChristianFilmmakersCamp.com.
Health Concerns: Please be advised that our camp is located at an altitude of 7000 feet. There may also be a lot of walking and carrying heavy filmmaking equipment as part of the camp day. While adults are welcome to attend camp it is really geared toward teens and twenty-somethings. Please keep this in mind if you have any physical health limitations.
